Our take

What a buyer should know

Foiling makes the range figure credible

The Navier N30's claim — around 75 nautical miles at 20 knots from an 80 kWh battery — would be implausible for a conventional planing hull. Retractable hydrofoils are what make it arithmetic rather than optimism: lifting the hull clear of the water removes most of the drag, and the boat is fast at 35 knots on twin 90 kW motors while carrying a pack no larger than a mid-sized electric car's. For anyone whose problem with electric boating is that the useful range collapses the moment you get on the plane, this is the most direct answer on the market at 9.1 m.

A complex boat, a long way from Europe

The caveats are real. Foils add mechanical complexity, submerged moving parts and vulnerability to debris and shallow water, and the self-docking and ride-control systems are software-dependent in a way most boats are not. The carbon hull is built at Lyman-Morse in Maine, so a European owner is buying a US-built craft with no local dealer network; the €276,000 figure is converted from a $300,000 starting price and excludes shipping, duty and VAT.

Battery and range packages vary by trim, so confirm which one your quotation covers. Early production runs have reportedly sold out, meaning lead time may matter more than price.
