Our take

What a buyer should know

Aircraft-grade construction, five ways to power it

Nero is a young German yard building carbon-fibre hulls with Italian design input, and the 777 Evolution's Petestep hull — which uses deflectors to redirect spray rather than conventional strakes — is a genuine efficiency measure rather than styling. The five Evoy propulsion options, from 60 kW to 300 kW, mean this is really several boats sharing a hull. At the top of the range, 300 kW and a 126 kWh pack give more than 50 knots, which makes it one of the fastest series electric boats available at 7.77 m. The fold-down side balconies are a superyacht feature at day-boat scale.

Read the range figure carefully

The quoted 108 nautical miles applies at a 5-knot setting, not at speed. That is not deceptive — every electric boat quotes range at its most efficient speed — but a buyer expecting anything approaching it at 50 knots will be badly disappointed. Ask Nero for range at a realistic 20–25 knot cruise.

Pricing needs the same scrutiny. The €265,000 shown here is derived from a €287,500 starting figure, and published prices for the range extend considerably higher for the more powerful configurations. Establish which motor, which battery and what VAT treatment your quotation assumes before comparing it with the Navier N30 or anything else in the band.
